Our solutions for their Staggered Schedule challenge:

At the grocery store:

  • think about buying a powerful protein to anchor the plate. Studies indicate that starting of with a single ingredient protein like beef actually encourages healthy eating patterns since you tend to eat more vegetables (to go with the meat).
  •  think about how different cuts of meat can work for the type of cooking you want to do — if you want to simmer in a slow cooker, try a Simmering Steak or Pot Roast like Cross Rib or Blade. Need a last minute dinner? Kabobs can be grilled in minutes.
  • Don’t know what cut to buy or how to cook it? The Roundup is a free app for your smartphone so you the help you need right at the grocery store.

At home:

  • put the slow cooker to work. Choose simmering cuts and a super simple recipe like Greek Pot Roast and then let dinner simmer all day while you go to work. Your slow cooker will even stop cooking and go into a warming hold stage until you get home from work.
  • think Cook Once Eat Twice – using leftovers to support you for an easy next day lunch
